Yoga for Resilience
Resilience is like a muscle. We can strengthen our capacity to manage stress by increasing self-awareness, self-compassion and self-care.
Resilient people cultivate positive emotions, feel connected to a community, exercise regularly and engage in mindfulness practices.
Yoga for Resilience is a hybrid yoga & mindfulness practice. Each class weaves meaningful conversation, gentle embodied movement and restorative yoga into a rejuvenating experience that fuels inner growth and resilience.
In restorative yoga we use a variety of props to support your body allowing your muscles to surrender and relax. Without any physical effort on your part these poses support stimulates your parasympathetic Rest & Digest response.
The benefits of activating your parasympathetic response are many. With practice restorative yoga can help include improve sleep, decrease feelings of anxiety and stress, as well as improving circulation and lymphatic flow.
Restorative Yoga is one of many ways we can boost our inner resilience—the capacity to tolerate life’s challenges and stress.
Due to the unexpected closure of Muse Yoga Studio I am currently on a short teaching sabbatical while I look for other places in Boise to teach. I am also taking this time to research how I can offer my classes online.
